This is the 8th year that Coconut Grove has held these community-wide events promoting the benefits of walking and rolling to school for children and families. This event allows you to test “temporary” protected bike lanes, try out your preferred route, provide input, and be part of this groundswell movement. Our collective goal is to make Coconut Grove an exemplary and safe environment for families to walk, bike, or roll to school.

11 Grove Schools are participating this year from Pre-K – 12th Grade!

SAFETY FIRST

POLICE WILL BE STATIONED AT KEY CROSSINGS. Additional support is being provided by the City of Miami Police Department and Miami-Dade Police’s School Crossing Guard Administration.

BIKE HELMETS ARE REQUIRED by law for cyclists under 16 years old.

IF YOU MUST DRIVE TO SCHOOL THESE MORNINGS please take extra care and add time for your morning commute.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 24th

RIDE CHAPERONES  will be along each route, North Grove, Park & Ride Locations, Kampong & Cocoplum.

PARK & RIDE  STATIONS  Regatta Park LOT 62 and The Kampong.  See these locations on our MAP above.

THURSDAY, JAN. 25th

PROTECTED BIKE LANE  A temporary protected bike lane will be in place on Matilda St. outside Coconut Grove Elementary School on Jan. 25th.

Walk Bike & Roll to School is part of the National Center for Safe Routes to School which empowers communities to make biking and walking a safe and preferred option for families. Vision Zero for Youth is an international program that is committed to eliminating all traffic fatalities and serious injuries.
